Terms & Conditions

By booking a holiday at Gernos Fawr you agree to the following terms and conditions.

  1. Gernos Fawr holiday cottage must be used by the hirer (all names on the booking form) for short-term holiday purposes only, from 4pm on the arrival date on the booking form to 10am on the departure date on the booking form.

  2. A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total rental cost is required within three days (excluding Sundays) of the booking. The balance is due three weeks prior to the arrival date. Payment is by Paypal only. The booking is not confirmed until payment is made. Failure to pay within the required time frame will result in the booking being cancelled.

  3. Cancellations must be made in writing and are subject to the following terms and conditions,

    a. Deposits are non-refundable.

    b. If the holiday cottage is successfully re-let for the same duration of holiday the owner will refund to the hirer 75% of the total cost of the holiday less a £60 fee for re-advertising and administration.

    c. The owner strongly advises the hirer to take out holiday insurance in case of cancellation.

  4. Gernos Fawr holiday cottage is for 4 persons only.

  5. The hirer agrees to the following

    a. to take good care of the holiday cottage during occupation maintaining all furniture, fixtures, fittings and effects in the same state of repair as at the commencement of the holiday.

    b. to use the holiday cottage and its contents in a safe and appropriate manner.

    c. to read instructions booklets before use of appliances.

    d. to keep the holiday cottage locked and secure whenever left unoccupied.

    e. to not use the holiday cottage or any part of it or the garden for any of the following: any activities which are dangerous, offensive, noxious, noisome, illegal or immoral, or which are or may become a nuisance or annoyance to the owner, or to the owner or occupier of any neighbouring property.

    f. to not act in any way which will or may result in the insurance of the property being void or voidable, or in the premium for the insurance being increased, nor allow anyone else to do so.

    g. to leave the holiday cottage in the same state of cleanliness and general order in which it was found, (an additional cost will otherwise be incurred to cover the extra cleaning).

    h. to report any damage or breakage immediately to the owner.

    i. to pay the costs arising from any breakages, damage to furniture or fittings, removal of any items from the holiday cottage, damage to the exterior of the holiday cottage and its garden including any damage to neighbouring property.

    j. to not make any noise which is audible outside the property between 11pm and 7 am.

    k. to not drop any litter.

    l. to not block waste pipes and drains.

    m. to not tamper with the electrical, gas, water or sewage services, pipes or equipment.

  6. The owner reserves the right to enter the property at any time if necessary.

  7. No pets are allowed in the holiday cottage or its garden.

  8. The owners operate a strictly no-smoking policy in the holiday cottage, any debris from smoking outside must be removed.

  9. Duvets, bed linen, bath towels, hand towels and t-towels are provided.

  10. The inventory in the information folder must be checked on arrival and any discrepancies reported to the owner immediately.

  11. Any problems with the holiday cottage or its contents should be reported to the owner immediately and all reasonable effort will be made to rectify such problems. No complaints will be accepted or correspondance entered into where complaints are made at the end of the holiday or after the holiday has finished.

  12. The owner cannot accept any liablity for the following,

    a. any injury sustained by any person while staying in the holiday cottage.

    b. loss of, or damage, to any property brought onto the premises.

    c. cars, which are parked at the owners risk.

    d. noise, nuisance or disturbance resulting from building works, neighbours or local events, etc.

    e. disruption of services from utility suppliers.

    f. closure of shops or amenities in the area.

  13. The owner reserves the right to terminate the tenancy, without refund, if there shall be a breach of any of these conditions. This is without prejudice to any of the other rights and remedies available to the owner.

  14. The owner shall seek to recover all costs arising from breach of this agreement through the necessary channels.

  15. In the event of the holiday cottage becoming unavailable, the tenancy is automatically cancelled or ended and the owner will refund all monies paid, or if the tenancy has started, proportionally any part of the rent for any period for which the holiday cottage cannot be used. In no event shall the liability of the owner to the hirer exceed the rental paid to for the holiday cottage.
